The most common method for shooting yourself in the foot seems to be procrastination. You don’t get around to calling about that job, or sending in your resume, or following up with that contact you made last night. You never get around to scheduling that trip to Europe, buying those concert tickets, or writing that article. You file your taxes late, pay your bills late, and start Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. This creates a life in which things never get done and never change. It also creates a lot of drama when rushing around to do things at the last minute. The “whys” of procrastination are too numerous to go into here and will be discussed in a separate article devoted solely to procrastination. What’s important here is to recognize the pattern of behavior and realize how it sabotages your efforts to reach your goals and fulfill your dreams.
After I complete the Self Sabotage series of posts I will be working on a Procrastination series. You will be able to access these articles by clicking the "procrastination" link in the Categories section on this page.
